The recent shooting incident that took place near a Church in South Carolina and other such criminal acts have revealed to the world that security in areas surrounding churches is at risk. Therefore security has been strengthened in areas surrounding Churches. This has helped in maintaining security of Pastors and believers who attend worship services. Since 2011 criminal acts surrounding Churches has doubled in number. It is reported that at least four such incidents are reported every week. Tim Miller a leader in providing security surrounding Churches says the main reason for these clashes is that people attending Church services are from different mental levels. Many are plagued with terror mentalities and hatred and when these levels escalate it results in clashes. Although these are not large scale terrorist level clashes shooting incidents such as the one in 2016 are also reported. It is also reported that many of these take place for personal reasons.
It has been felt that security forces based in areas surrounding Churches need to have special training in combating and containing such clashes. Specialists are of the view that security surrounding Churches needs to be more organized and productive.
