Christians get together with one aim

Christians all over the world are facing various forms of persecutions and many have been reduced to the state of refugees as a result.  Churches all over the world have come together with one aim in mind and that is to conduct prayer services to intercede on behalf of Christians who are being persecuted all over the world.  The day has been names as the International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church.  Prof Waryek says that today the persecution of Christians has reached the highest levels as never before.  As at present persecution of Christians is rampant in the Middle East, Asia and Africa.

From merciless killing, destruction of churches and buildings, to being forced to denounce Jesus as their Lord, Christians are being stripped of the ability to follow Christ in safety and freedom.

Prayers will be offered worldwide pleading with God to put an end to these criminal acts.  The world is today facing the largest refugee crisis since the Second World War.  And that too, without a war.  More than 75% of the world’s population lives without religious freedom.  According to latest reports received from the end of 2014 to the middle of 2015 almost 7000 people have been killed due to their Christian faith.  It has also been recorded that more than 2400 Churches have been destroyed during this period.  It is reported that the current situation has doubled the number of people and Churches affected.  Therefore the organizers of this day believe that the observance of this day of prayer is of great importance.
