Heritage of the Christian threatened

On Ramadan Day the Muslim people in Turkey had chosen to hold their Ramadan rituals in the Hagia Sofia Church.  The problem was that the Ramadan rituals were being performed in this place after about 80 years.  This was a sort of threat towards all Christians and some even considered it as a silent threat.  This Church was built sometime in the 6th Century and named the Basilica Church and later became an Islamic Church during the 15th Century.  This writer says that the invaders’ first act was to destroy the altar in this Church and then went on to destroy everything that was according to Christian tradition.

Here you see the the Hagia Sofia Church in its previous form through computer animation.  It clearly shows the complete change that has occurred.  However as time passed and the Kingdoms fell the Islamic rituals in this Church also came to a halt.  With the advent of Turkish Religious Leader Mustapha this church was turned into a Museum.   But with time everything began to change.  The decision of the present leaders is to hand over the heritage of the Christians to the Muslim faith.  Although the Muslim people are pleased with this decision taken with the intention of gaining political benefits the Christians vehemently oppose this move.  This political analyst says that although the decision of the government has created an added faith in the ruling party in the hearts of the Muslim people it has caused the Christians to turn away from the government.  Many people believe that due to politics alone this Christian heritage is daily getting further away from the Christian.
